West Central Ohio | I have an older DJI drone but not this particular model so what I say might not apply.
As mentioned above, the controller would need to be charged also. Mine has a separate charging port on the bottom center, USB-c.
My drone and controller also have a somewhat unique power on procedure where you have to press the power button, release, and press again and hold for it to power on.
