Subject: RE: App for guidance?

Middlesex County, Ontario
I have a Ublox F9P GPS receiver (couple hundred bucks) in a 3d printed enclosure with an antenna and USB battery bank. I can connect it to my android phone via USB or Bluetooth, and then all my android apps use the GPS location from the receiver.

The phone can also patch along a connection to my base station via NTRIP, and that gives me RTK. Then my android phone has full RTK. The same GPS receiver is used in on some autosteer systems, it’s a real and quality receiver, and it’s not that expensive if you are buying just a chip from an electronics warehouse. It’s a triple band receiver and antenna. It picks up GPS, GLONASS, the Chinese and European constellations as well, no unlock fees.

You can just make it out here on the corner of my side by side, just looks like a globe. I used it recently for taking some soil samples and flagging some elevations. I also use it to make field boundaries. I use the SW Maps app for those purposes.

It is handy having a portable RTK receiver around. I can mount it to a pole also.
