Subject: RE: Is deer hunting that serious?

Fortunately here in my part of north Iowa, the problems we had thirty years ago with roaming bands of trucks and guys shooting out the windows from the road, lobbing taters at running deer, sometimes even driving out in the field to continue blasting away have mostly disappeared. Most of the old gang members are now too old or dead. Back then, it sounded like a war zone from sunup to sundown, now very few do Deer drives. Pretty much stand hunting out of blinds today, with only the occasional shot heard off in the distance. Due to access issues, we’ve lost a third of our hunters. Whether that’s good or bad, too be determined. Personally I’m enjoying less slob hunters roaming the countryside. A fairly large number of non land owning hunters are pretty disrespectful, to put it mildly.
