E.Central MN | Some ATMs have a daily cash withdrawal limit. When I was younger, I went on a trip and stopped at an ATM in Nevada to get some cash for meals. I didn't realize that the ATM network wouldn't work with my card in that state even though it had the correct symbol that worked in other states. Luckily I still had enough cash to get by for a couple days. The next morning I went to an ATM in California, I double checked the logo and fine print. It was the right network, so it should have worked. But it wouldn't allow me to withdraw cash because it had a record that I had tried to make a transaction within the previous 24 hours (at the Nevada ATM). I had to wait another full 24 hours from that point in time to withdraw the cash I needed. My local bank doesn't charge me a fee to withdraw cash from their ATM, but they do have a relatively small cash withdrawal limit. | |
