Finished spraying corn for the year with some corn i was going to add some power max 3 in last Wednesday since there was some grass in the field. Had about 2 acres left in the tank I emptied half of it in jugs then just diluted the rest with 225 galling of water and just planed on spraying in out on the field next to the shop. I recirculated the booms and sprayed it out the next day. I covered around 9 ac with the diluted mix believe. The mix was 1 qt empyros 1 qt atrazine 16 oz power max 3 and 2# ams. Well the corn looked fine till the last 2 days. I forgot that field was conventional corn. Corn was probably v4 when I sprayed it. It doesn't look dead yet and split open a stalk and it still looks like the ones that didn't get sprayed. Its just nowhere near as green on tje outside. Will it out grow it or will it just be a slow painfull dead to watch. Im guessing it got around 2oz of roundup per ac. Makes me sick im asking this question.
I think I’d be getting the planter hooked up.
If you’re ready to roll with seed in the hoppers, the corn will be fine.
If you’re hoping it will pull through, it will die and you won’t be ready with the planter and miss a “fit” window.
I drifted on a neighbor on a windy day that I should NOT have been spraying. It didn’t take much droplets on a leaf to terminate the plant. I have no clue as to the dosage req’d to kill a non-roundup ready corn plant. |
