From experience here at agtalk, i would say it is critical to eliminate multiple regristrations, vpns, blah blah i dont know the terminology. Keep the political operatives off, whatever it takes, and the marketing trolls as well. Vote suspend/expel would seem to be the most effective.
That's great feedback, and I agree.
One of the reasons we use phone number verification is to make it harder for people to create multiple accounts. No system is perfect, but we're trying to build a community of real people rather than anonymous accounts.
We're also starting to use AI-assisted moderation to help identify spam, fake accounts, and other suspicious activity which is big step compare 5 years ago. It's not there to replace human judgment, but it can help flag things early as the community grows.
Keeping out spam, fake accounts, political trolls, and bad actors is definitely one of the biggest challenges for any online community. |
