Subject: RE: Home geothermal heat/ air conditioning

I put in a pump and dump system in 1996, replaced it about 4 years ago with another. When I put mine in it was much cheaper to run than a conventional heat pump. Heat pumps have gained a lot of efficiency in the last several years and I am not sure the pay back is there anymore. I put another one in because of longevity and being able to install under the house where the old one was, otherwise we were going to have to add additional electricity, ductwork and breach the foundation then have to look at a unit in the yard.
