They say that you need to give things to young kids like peanut butter to mostly likely avoid being allergic to peanut butter\ later on.

There are a huge number of articles that people that live in sterile environments have more allergies than kids growing up on farm/ranch.

I got worried years ago that I was allergic to something. Took the needles in the back for a 100 or so different allergens. Come to find out I was slightly allergic to horses. As soon as I was told that, i figured out that is the reason I would itch when I helped dad gather sheep or goats or cattle. This only happened the first few times at the start of summer that I would itch. So now when a nurse asked if I am allergic to anything, I state I am allergic to horses. I get a laugh nearly every time.
