| I know a couple of guys with good polypays in central Iowa. Email if you need names and numbers.
If you're looking for old-fashioned commercial Dorsets, I think you'll be pretty limited. The in-vogue commercial sheep breeds change almost as quickly as show ring fads, and commercial Dorsets have not been in style for a while (lack of growth and lamb drop). Dorsets are really nice sheep, though. And, believe it or not, the current club lamb-style Dorset makes an excellent white-faced commercial terminal sire. They have much better growth than any commercial Dorset I ever owned years ago.
From a purely commercial standpoint, Polypay and Kahtadins are the hot items today for very opposite reasons. If you manage polypays right, productivity is astounding, but it takes a lot of labor to achieve. Katahdins, on the other hand, live on almost nothing and will produce some very low-cost lambs, just not many of them. They seem to appeal to busy people who need to be more hands-off.
