NCIA | It’s not a common problem “here.” We’ve got one farm that got infested with it. I think it came in with manure. Heavy corn on corn. We just went to a mandatory September spray with 2-4d. I have a hagie, so it makes the application easier. After a 10 year battle, it’s under control. Here it’s not around at fungicide timing, have to wait till last week of August or September. Learned that the hard way. We get it killed before it seeds and the dead vines will at least go through the corn head.
I’m seeing more and more every year on some area fields. I don’t think guys realize what they have coming. It is pure evil. | |
