We had same problem here of alfalfa with no blooms but grasses going to seed early due to a week of very warm temperatures the week around May 20-27. For some reason the red clover in the mix in some fields is way ahead of normal. End result is total tonnage is about normal for first crop but bales are a mix of stemmy grasses and good clover. Cows seem to like it but picking through the stems to find the legumes.
Hay crop curious what other are experiencing for yield.
