Subject: Glyphosate resistant ryegrass

nw NC
Seeing some this year for the first time. For many years I have applied gly and 2-4-D in late March for burn-down of winter vegetation growth (which makes good cover crop for free) on my hilly, no-till continuous corn silage ground. Gly has always killed ryegrass in one application, but this year some regrew from root or tillers on bunches that browned off and appeared dead from the spraying. I normally plant my corn late May into early June and by that time summer weeds are growing, so another application of gly and 2-4-D plus residual herbicide results in clean ground for the growing season. I plant and spray in a one pass operation ( sprayer on back of planter). Did it Tuesday and Wednesday last week. By Saturday broadleaf growth was very sick and obviously will be dead soon. Ryegrass, which usually shows wilting in three days, was showing no wilting but appears unfazed. As corn was not emerged yet, I sprayed over the spots in my small fields where the surviving ryegrass is, using Paraquat. 24 hours later that ryegrass is brown and dry. Hope it is controlled. I will keep close watch over my small fields ( only plant 20 acres of corn) and will walk them with a sharp round point shovel and cut out any ryegrass turfs that survived the paraquat or that I missed getting sprayed. Certainly do not want any to go to seed. Anyone else having gly resistant ryegrass?
