Modern cc readers make transactions really fast also. You look at the cost figure, verify it mentally or physically in some cases, then hold your little card chip up against the reader. Could happen in 1-2 seconds.

No waiting for attendant to open cash drawer, count the money you gave them, then count your change, then you verify the amount handed you....if you do in fact count & verify. And, in worst case, argue the change amount.

More & more venues are going to credit card only. I also personally dislike the recent trend for credit card charges. I don't think cc companies are charging more to the merchants than years ago, but many merchants have found a way to make another couple bucks on a sale. I don't consider it "borrowing money" if you pay off the entire amount monthly. Probably no different than your utility bills? You get utility for a month, then pay for it normally 15 days later after that month ending. Is that "borrowing money"? Now, if you don't pay your cc balance, that's another subject.

Re. movies, another feature that wife & I use is buying tickets online & choosing the seats we want. You walk in the theatre & bypass sales lines.

I'm looking forward to the DDE movie. He was the first President I remember. He had a real farm. Also flew as a private pilot. Got his license in a Stearman, the real way to fly.
