Subject: Schlagel

Fairbury, NE (Southeast)
I've run Schlagles for 15 years. Far superior to the rubber disks, i prefer them slightly to yetter twisters as they close the slot on curved rows better. Primarily bean stubble with some COC.

The weakness of the Schlagle is very firm conditions such as clay soil wheat stubble, they are not aggressive enough. Would recommend Thompsens if you are doing much in those kind of conditions.

I also plant a half notch deeper than some since the ground is a little looser after the schlagel vs other systems.
