95 miles NW of Quitaque, TX | People take CC because it makes it easier to tally everything up. I worked at one coop and got designated to do the books at the end of the day. I did not ask for the job but I got appointed by the chief accountant (well she was the only one so she was chief). The guy that wanted to do the end of day took 5-6 hours and multiple calls to the accountant. The endof day was easy. Count all the pennies, nickels, etc., and checks. Put the numbers in the appropriate blanks. Then add up the numbers. No CCs in those days.
I say all this to show that a person had to handle lots of money, sometimes. CCs it is all electronic. That saves a ton of money in salaries, overtime, etc. Less chance to miscount or steal real money. |
