Looking at purchasing a NH small square baler about 250 miles away. Freight charges are high probably because of the width of around 9', I was considering just pulling it home and not trailering it the weight is around 3500 lbs. so not real heavy. How fast has anyone pulled one and is 250 miles pushing it because of tires etc.? Any suggestions are helpful; I included a couple pictures if that helps. Thanks in advance.
If you’re already planning to pick it up, I’d trailer it on a gooseneck and drive as fast as you want. You’ll need a loader to lift it off is all.
As crappy as these roads and shoulders are after winter /heave, that baler will bear the brunt of the bumps. Not to mention, dropping the pickup side off onto a bumpy, pothole riddled shoulder and strain an axle/blow that tire…..
Strap her on a little kitty-wompous and it won’t be “that” wide |
