So I've got a 1200 that runs the planter. I am fighting seed sensor going off all the time when it's still planting. Ive tried my best to clean the sensors but seems to make no difference. Ive had to ignore a few just for my sanity! Could I possibly need a new harness for the sensors? I dont know what else to do. I paid to much for this setup not to work like it should. Sometimes when I start for the day it'll show population in the 200k range but I know it's set for 130k for beans. Then after a while running it'll settle in at around 130k. Im just not real happy...maybe it's the wiring to the sensors?? Frustrating! Paid almost 20k for this setup a d cant get it right. My dealer is a good guy but hes busy farming too and wants to do things by text or call...I get it but I want this thing to be spot on for the money I spent! Any insight?
The diagnostics are completely different between the PMM and STMM, and we don't know which setup you have. If you take a couple of pictures of your planter -- specifically the module where the harness connects, and/or one of the seed tube sensor connections to the harness, we might be able to give you better info. Good luck.
That said: when it says you're close to 200k but you know it's doing 130k, is that right as you start out a row from fully stopped?
Your GPS setup -- which model your GPS antenna is, and whether you're using WAAS, RTK, or something else -- could also help. My thought here is that I've seen some displays, when using WAAS only, have their ground speed jump all over the place when you first start moving; when the ground speed is wrong, then the math for what your seed population is, fundamentally must be wrong too.
