WC Iowa | I have an Evolution cold cut saw (10years) and an Ellis band saw (15years). If i could only have one i would keep the band saw just because it fits bigger things and i can set it to cut and go do other things while it cuts. But the evolution is so much faster and great for making angle cuts. Bought the cold cut saw after the band saw and have slowly been using it more and more vs the band saw. Basically the band saw is now only a big cut saw for me. Biggest thing is make a nice cutting area for the cold cut saw, that is where the band saw with a large built in table is better right out of the gate. If you are cutting as much as you say just get a bandsaw you want be disappointed. And you always have your old milwalkee or can get a better one if you still want the speed of the metal chop saw down the road. | |
