Floyd County, Iowa | We have sink holes here, registered with the USGS, and we have a creek to that runs through us, and some of the sink holes are in the creek bed. They get bigger every year. I steer clear of them.
I've had muskrats bore into the banks of the creek, some as far as 20 feet. Then rains will make them appear like a sink hole. Those I fill in.
It depends on whether your area is prone to sink holes (limestone bed, Karst type topography, etc).
Personally, I stay away from holes in the ground. I'll get there too soon as it is, so no use pushing it. | |
