Northwest Illinois here. We have been planting 20 inch rows for over 20 years both corn and beans. There’s a few others in the neighborhood that have been on 20 inch rows for several years. The only disadvantage for us of 20 inch rows is the cost of the extra row units. Erosion is considerably less on our Hill ground. Weed control as much easier. And on the poor soils we see a decent yield increase…. Dennis
