East Central Nebraska | Hi, my bestway field pro 4 having issues folding and unfolding and the wings going up and down. It intermittently did this last year and has gotten worse this year. It has the box with the switches and run the hydr lever forward. The up and down works fine on the main mast. For the wing up and down, sometimes it works, sometimes it moves up instead of down and sometimes won't move at all. The folding up on the booms is the worst. Got a hard time to get them to fold and unfold. Both sides. I noticed that if I run the hydr lever to float and back into the down position all the functions of the boom work fine for a few seconds. At one time I thought maybe it was the tractor, but it works fine with other implements hooked up and the mast up and down has no problems. So in my mind that rules out the hoses/couplers and the tractor. I also messed with the flow control on the tractor to try more flow and less. That didn't change anything. So when I unfold, I raise the wing a bit to get past the stop, I put hydr in down position, hold the switch in up position, and then cycle the hydr lever to float and back to down and the wing will raise immediately. Same for the other side. Then repeat to unfold the booms, same process. It used to be every once in a while and now pretty much anytime I need to move the booms, I have to do that. If I need to move the booms up, I have to cycle the lever to float. Luckily the mast works fine and I control the height when I got thru a ditch. I'm going to call the dealer tomorrow that sells these, but thought I'd ask on here. I'm in hills and rough ground and move the booms alot. Be nice if I could get the wings to work better. That's a pain. Something got to be bad and don't know where to start and afraid one of these times, I'm not going to be able to fold the boom and have to unhook it in the field. Thanks Greg | |
