MnDirtturner - 6/6/2026 09:57 I am stuck with my van trailer for now and utilize 3-5 totes sucking from the bottom 2" cam lock. I have a valve on the hose at the camlock but it still makes a mess when I disconnect. What is the closest and cleanest way to suck from a IBC? Would I be better with a dipstick out the top? You don't say if you are sucking with a pump or are using vacuum from your water pump. But either way it works best to plan ahead if you need to disconnect. I have another valve besides the tote valve on suck hose. Take a 2.5 gallon jug and cut all around it so you have a tray with 1 inch high edges. Slide it under connections and close tote valve. Start up your sucking mechanism and suck while you open camlocks. You will get a few drips in tray and from end of hose. Shut valve on hose and rinse it off over inductor. Let drip into tray for a bit and rinse that out over inductor. There is not much mess if you can plan ahead. If circumstances don't always allow that, you just get more in your drip tray. But an extra valve on the suck hose by where you connect to camlock is a must. I did the sucking out of top for years and switched to bottom on the camlock this year. That is way less messy and easier then sucking from the top. |
