I have never used a bandsaw, so my experience is biased. I love my cold cut chop saw. Great quality cuts that can be done quickly. If you shop around, I think the quality of the fence and the clamping screw are the most important things to look at. We have a Jepson and love it. The Jepson chews through metal like butter, and the adjustable fence is nice. The Evolution saws look good also.
