One thing I will say is that a bandsaw is something you don't have to watch. If you have something big/thick to cut, you clamp it in, start the saw, and then go do whatever you want as the bandsaw slowly chews through it, and when finished will shut itself off. A cold cut saw requires you to be there. I have built things where I needed a bunch of pins cut to length, and I liked the bandsaw in that I could start a cut, go do something else, and next time I walked by the saw, lined it up for another. | |
