I'm not one to generally rant about things, but I'm curious if anyone else finds the overuse of vertical video orientation as annoying as I do?

I understand the reason this has taken over is because of how people naturally hold their phones.  It just seems to me that in nearly every vertical video I watch (which isn't that many), It feels like I am missing content off the edges, and the top and bottom thirds are completely wasted bandwidth that are irrelevant to the scene.  It just seems that across billions of videos, this makes a lot of useless extra data for the cloud to store and manage.
