Cleveland, MS. Own small farm near Booneville, MS | Raw, straight from the cow milk never hurt me. However, when I was about 9 or 10 we had a Jersey cow that we milked for awhile. Her milk was so rich that I couldn’t drink it. We would strain it through a white cloth, usually made from a piece of bed sheet or a handkerchief, into a glass gallon jar. Set it in the refrigerator overnight and half of it would be cream by morning. At first mother would just stir the cream back into the milk, but I couldn’t drink it that way. She started to separate the cream and just leave the milk and then I could drink it. |
