Subject: RE: Maintaining liquidity

n. Illinois
For an operating farming operation, the rule of thumb would be to have a years worth of gross farm income as a goal to strive for. There is no right answer to the actual question as everybody's operation is so different in terms of cash flow when and how much etc. etc. Dairy operations need less working capital vs a cash grain operation because they have income monthly vs just once a year.
