Futures is $4.24 for corn. MAC -25basis. ZFS (Zeeland) basis 0 but not sure how much they will accept. Have a friend with a +20 basis hedge and it still does not look good.
The "winning" in the US (and the world) is going to last for a long time. Not sure if the genius worries about it.
I do business with all the above and I like and trust them all. They are in the same boat as the rest of us. Im not sure about the guy from Nebraska that says he's making a good income by forward contracting where he did, but at current input costs and the cost of living, its not enough for me. I will survive though. The future, to me just does not look favorable to farmers or those that buy our commodities. |
