Historical information is worthless when it comes to making commentary about today.
Every plant in this part of the world was built with a plated capacity and daily run rates of apx 115% of plated capacity. Test weights on corn, different chemistry within the plants have pushed conversions from 2.65 gallons/bu to roughly 2.9.
However, most of these plants are shut down for 3-5 days 1 to 2 times per year for repairs, updating, etc. and if they are only running at 95% of plated capacity— they are likely going broke.
So, end of day, we are at capacity today until new plants are added. Some were setting up to deal with that due to the carbon pipeline. Taking more risk without new stable demand isn’t in their scope either. They might, but they may not.
