FIFY

End ALL subsidies.      Get rid of wasteful govt spending and stop inflation.   Let the market decide what to produce and where.

You aren’t very bright.

Purpose of subsidies has to do with providing the US population with cheap food so they can spend the savings to expand the economy. Inflation is a bi product.

It is what all countries strive for in different forms.

You realize we export or turn into fuel half of corn and soy crops right? Not even to mention the relatively small portion of $ that the basic commodity contributes to final food that is consumed?
Edit: we export roughly 40% of our beans with the biggest share of those going to China (maybe not last year?), so we are subsidizing food for China?

You realize that you eat?

Do you realize the DDGs go into cattle, hog, dairy, and chicken feed?

We are subsidizing food for the entire world, not just China. But that is no different than spending military budgets to defend Germany, or another country. The net result is US citizens spend a smaller % of their income on food than any other country— by a wide margin.
