DCH - 5/31/2026 20:30  You aren’t very bright. Purpose of subsidies has to do with providing the US population with cheap food so they can spend the savings to expand the economy. Inflation is a bi product. It is what all countries strive for in different forms.

Inflation has been the main product of govt spending over the past ~20 years.     The people that aren't very bright are the people that think you get stuff for free by creating money out of thin air, aka inflation.      Apparently you're one of them.

Or maybe it’s just that you’re a banker that likes loaning out money that gets created out of thin air so you do t have to bid up for capital to loan out.   With the added bonus of the govt acting as a risk backstop for all of your ag loans.  As long as govt payments and inflation both continue to run rampant there is little risk of farmland ever dropping in value (fiat USD) so you’ll always have a viable exit strategy as long as there is some land collateral.

Subsidies have little to do with cheap food.     Govt subsidies/policies are directly responsible for increasing beef prices.    Govt subsidies are about control and scratching the backs of those that scratch yours.   That is all.
