Milford, IL | Funny story.
Buddy of mine had finished college and graduated a freshly minted civil engineer. First worked for a local surveying company, then got a job offer at a place in Texas. Part of the interview process was some kind of background check and it was discovered he had an outstanding bench warrant for an unpaid traffic ticket.
He had been driving that way for several years. A phone call to the county courthouse revealed someone in the office had made a mistake and not applied his payment (paid by check, fortunately) in the proper fashion. Problem was solved quickly but had he ever been stopped on the road it would have made for a bad day. He still works for that same employer in TX. | |
