| SRDP 1 was pure Biden welfare trying to buy farmer votes.
Most of the increase in prices during democrat administrations were set up by previous republicans.
Why was SRPD1 a welfare program??? It paid non productive.
Learn this welfare goes to non productive. Subsidies to encourage over production. In agriculture, why are we paying government money of any type outside the sweet spot of productivity???
In the case of western livestock producers- Taylor clearly state that the AUM rate shall be the value of grass as feed. It’s that simple. I am pretty sure no one can feed a cow/calf pair for $1.65/ month. That welfare has limited cattle production outside the welfare states AND encouraged those ranchers to raise smaller, less efficient, poorer quality beef for the consumer markets.
I could care less about government payments. Cut them off and half (apx) of agriculture goes broke. The other half gets very wealthy due to lower production.
