| About the only things that's changed since is the CRP has been broke out, crops have gone from small grains and sunflowers to corn and beans (not exclusively by way of ethanol and crop insurance like everyone thinks), and less operations with livestock because of poor markets, bad winters, and the anthrax epidemic that came through in the mid 2000s.
As far as the "buckle up" comment, whos gonna take over these operations that might fold if we stay in this downcycle? Dollars to doughnuts it's gonna be the big outfits and not the little guys or even the first gen farmers that everyone thinks is waiting in the wings for land values to crash | |
