Your old ac probably ran on r-22. Refrigerant then changed to r-410a, then changed to 454b last year. R-22 refrigerant runs at lower pressures, better in my opinion. I have had two houses with new furnaces and ac put in recently- 454b lennox. I like a gas furnace and the standard straight cool ac. If you have good ductwork. Heats up fast in cold weather, and cool in the summer.
