Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Are you attempting to spray rowed crops? Our experience has been that due to the increased speed and inevitable planter drift, assisted steering does not work acceptably for spraying rowed crops with our STS-12. Broadacre spraying prior to planting worked acceptably depending on the the ground conditions.
I found this true with the combine also. It works fine in rowed soybeans since the bean head allows a little wiggle room on each end. It was not acceptable to harvest corn based on the planted AB lines due to planter drift. A feeler system works well with corn in rows.
This is with Terra Star Pro C for correction. RTK will provide better correction but the ground speed, ground conditions, planter drift etc., will still be factors. You don't want to spend a bunch of money only to be disappointed in the results.
