Good point. The payments wd be nowhere near 100% as OP suggested.
The govt payments are no different than a grain check.
I have never been obsessed or felt guilty about the payments.
They're legal.
I dont do drugs or have costly vices or have a lake home.
Not 1 penny went into savings.
It all went back into the farm, which will help my descendants.
And I dont feel bad about that either.
Because some get so wound up about these payments, it would sure be nice to know what % of your gross income over the last 20-40 years is actually govt payments.
I know it helps but I dont think its as huge as some bellyache (or brag) about.
In a disaster year, its substantial.
Some years its near 0.
Of course it’s different than a grain check. That’s something you earned and have every right to. The socialist handouts are something you did nothing to earn and have no right to. No matter what you used it for or how many flimsy excuses you come up with to try to justify yourself. If being legal makes something right, what do you think of abortion? |
