 East of Broken Bow | I agree. I asks for their best price. If they can come up with a different number, it wasn't their 'best' price. I will not quote another bid because they will just come in a penny under the other guy, and sometimes they will come in a dime under. Besides, I don't think it is right to ask 2 suppliers for their best price, and then try and negotiate down from there, seems like you are not trusting their word. I will say after losing a sale or two, one supplier asked me why, I said I asked for best price and he was underbid. He came back he could have done better. I said I asked for best price, not starting price. After that, his bids were always very competetive and I made several purchases over the last few years from him.
I will take in consideration how they treat me, as well, as sometimes an extra penny saved isn't worth it if there is a lot of hassle involved. | |
