I think I have a stat rack clipping from Farm Journal years ago. It was about how many pounds per ace of pesticide that was applied yearly. Coming in near the bottom was crop land around 2.X pounds per acre per year. Residential lawns were 20, maybe 30. Golf courses came it at 49.X pounds per acre per year.
