Southeast Colorado | Like I said above, I've been blaming the govt for our flawed business model for decades.
Admittedly.......I farm in an area where loss is almost expected. I do believe that the farm program is built to function as a social program in rural areas. Farming would not be possible here without the govt assurance. Without farmers..........the towns would turn to dust. They are almost dust right now anyway. Honestly, I got into this business pretty young...........and if I'd have known just how much govt support it takes to function, I'd have surely taken a different path.
The only bright spot I actually see right now is in the livestock sector. Keep prices where they are, and we could actually profit with cattle. | |
