Mid MO | I think that's a fairly conservative estimation. When I was operating, it wasn't unusual to run 8-12 million gallon per day in winter. Prime watering season would be 18-21 million gallon per day. Some of that would be car washing and swimming pools but we'd start cranking hard at 3 a.m. to meet the irrigation demands. No bulk water sales. So no filling nurse tanks or hauling water for ag.
The bougie neighborhoods compete with one another for the greenest lawns and complain the loudest when they bonk the water pressure by simultaneously watering. It's a status thing to out do your neighbor's lawn and if one starts watering, all the sheep must follow. | |
