NENE | The 4th of July used to be the time when the traders all decided the crop was made and the market turned south. It seems every year that date gets earlier and earlier until it's to the point that the crop is made as soon as it's in the ground. Call me a crop killer if you like, I could care less, but the crop is far from made around here. Lot's of weather issues with the biggest one being it's very dry with our usual driest season still coming just when the usage is the highest. Maybe everything will turn around and be all good but I don't think a smart gambler would put too much on that right now. I've sold a lot of beans on the spring rally but still have a good amount of corn to sell. Most will get sold at whatever price but I'm pretty sure at least some will be around to celebrate it's first birthday the way it looks. | |
