Seems like the first question to ask is how long has it been that way.
The red line (top 10%) is about the time frame that the generation that lived through the depression died off and likely inherentence was spent. The blue line (bottom 80%) was probably "financed wealth" thats still being paid for and/or rolled into refinancing.
This is not sustainable.
