NW IA | I like what I have. Only 40 feet deep, but the sun does go up the back wall quite a ways in the winter. 16 feet high on the South opening with a 4 foot stem wall and 12 foot curtain on the North side. The ridge is open with no cap.
Part of my decision was the desire to feed the critters out and away from the building. Stuffers make that easier. I have a 30 foot floor in front of the building. IMO it saves tons of bedding and the cattle are clean with little effort.
I know it's a bit controversial, but when I looked into building options there was a school of thought that said mono-slopes could have less effective ventilation due to the width and a high south opening with a shorter north side opening restricting high volume air exchange.
