north central Ohio | Cattle will go down eventually but not as much as many think. This is a new level that can be justified and guys thinking it is too high to save heifers will wish they had in 5 years. Many of the meats are long due for correction up. Grains have had a couple “corrections” up in the past 20-25 years. From what I understand cattle still are not high enough for guys to buy land and expand a heard. I think the dairy industry and sexed semen are becoming very important to the beef industry and angus/holstein cross are bringing $1800-$2200 for week old bottle calves locally. Calves may bring more income than milking the cows. | |
