| The problem with just leaving this afternoon would be Iran would be emboldened to open up a tollbooth on the Strait and ramp up making nukes. I could hear the lefty podcasts now "Taco! Tacoman! Taco Bell! Taco John! Taco Tico!" ... "shoulda stuck with the Obama agreement!". If we built infrastructure around the Strait, that could be spun as a victory, we could have our own tollbooth in the Strait on Iranian oil keeping them bled down that they couldn`t fund nuclear adventures.
CBS reported it`s not uncommon for Iran to string a long talks for 20 months (in this case I`m thinking they could string it along indefinitely) the quicker we start a canal, the quicker it`ll be done and we could tell that whole region to "pound sand!". | |
