Do you want all weather?
Do you want a plinker or more substantial caliber?
Do you reload or off the shelf ammo?
Do you want vintage or new?
I could expound with more questions but I have heard very good things about the new Ruger made Marlins. Perhaps an all weather in .45-70? Or a pistol caliber like .357 magnum or .44 magnum? Then you could also go with .38 special or .44 special respectively.
Also heard good things about the Miroku produced Winchesters.
Plinker .22 and Henry has several models. Henry also has a nice selection of more substantial calibers in lever action. | |
