Western Oregon | We use the walk out basement of an old church here for a food pantry twice a month. No steps and the little parking lot is right there on flat ground. Works good. A lady from the church runs the pantry but the help is from the community. I don't go to church there, but help unload and shelve. It is Seventh Day Adventist and the food comes from Marion Polk food share. Greatly needed. We serve about 35 families each time. We have a storage area for staples, 2 freezers and 2 coolers + 2 long tables for distribution. The other church in town has a Produce giveaway every Friday in the old part of the building that is not used as part of their services. A mini van load every week along with a little dairy delivered along with our refrigerated truck load, that someone there comes and picks up right off the truck. They have 1 cooler. Town of 250....James | |
