| Use cat food as bait. Put a tarp around all sides of the trap except the opening. Weigh down the back end of the trap with a heavy log chain. Leave one end of a hose or something (I use dryer exhaust tube) under the tarp. Tie twine on two of the tarp corner grommets and leave the ends as many feet away from the trap as you’re comfortable with. When the skunk gets caught, pull the twine until the tarp completely covers the trap. Finish weighing down the entire tarp with the log chain. Back up a internal combustion engine of your choice and attach the exhaust to the hose. Leave it run for a bit until it takes a good nap. | |
