Starlink has been good but while they are advertising cheap rates ours are now 135$ a month. We have no other choice right now. As much as I hate the digging and cable going in Willy-nilly, I look forward to a wired internet again. Sounds like rates will be 50-70$ a month. Basically from what I understand local electric coop has got some huge gov grants so I am guessing their old easements can be used.
My son had Spectrum fiber optic internet for the past two years. It started at $35/month, then $50, then $85 and then $100. He then dropped it and went to Starlink for $35. I've been on Verizon internet for several years and the rate has stayed at $50/month. I was quoted $29 per month (3 months) for Starlink and then it goes to $50.
I am all for competition. But I am also advocating for property rights for landowners. Every state is different. And there are nuances to consider. But at this point, I stand firm that by Ohio law, Spectrum should be required to get easements from the landowners they are impacting.
